Introduction

This collection contains 10 original, numbered works created by the artists Bruni Heym and Jafar T. Kaki, with traditional and non traditional means and different techniques.

The works have all been created in their workshop in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca between the years 2001 and 2004. The pieces are numbered from the 1/30 to the 30/30 and there also exist 3 P.A., 1 B.A.T, & 3 H.C. Each piece is accompanied by the poem that it represents, both in Arabic (calligraphy by Jafar T. Kaki) and in the Spanish or German translation and is signed by the author of the poems, Adonis. The works has been inspired by poems of great Arab contemporary poet "ADONIS" (Canciones de Mihyar el de Damasco y Libro de las huidas y mudanzas por las climas del día y la noche).

The books has been translated into Spanish by Federico Arbós, Professor of Modern Arab Literature in the Complutense University, Madrid, and Pedro Martinez Montáves, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and into the German by Stefan Weidner.

The prologue of the collection has been written Dña. Elena de Santiago, Biblioteca Nacional and Dn. Javier Blas, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Calcografía Nacional, Madrid.

The artists have writen a brief epilogue reflecting some thoughts that have arisen during the 3 years that they have been working on the project, and also contain the curriculums of the 3 authors.

Our book has been presented in June 2004 in the Museum Foundation of Joan Miró, Mallorca. In March 2005 the National Bibliotheca of Spain, showed the works in a special exhibition in Madrid. The number one of the edition was given to his majestic the king of Spain by the museum of contemporary art, "Es Baluard", Palma de Mallorca.

The artists intend with this project to create a bridge between orient and occident. Tolerance, Dialogue and Empathy are the aims for the future, for a better understanding between people and culture. We fount it in our Art and in the -poems of Adonis.
